Event: StartupAZ Foundation and Galvanize Phoenix are hosting the 1776 Challenge Cup Phoenix pitch competition, co-sponsored by AOL co-founder Steve Case’s venture capital firm Revolution LLC.
What: Challenge Cup is a worldwide tournament for promising, innovative startups to win prizes, make connections and share their vision on a global stage.
When and where: 6-9 p.m. Sept. 28 at Galvanize, 515 E. Grant St., Phoenix
Format: Startups will get 30 seconds for a rapid pitch and a shot at an audience choice award of $500 and a one-month membership to Galvanize. The top eight finalists will give three-minute pitches, followed by a five-minute judge and audience Q&A.
Startups competing: Emagine Solutions Technology, Life365, Smart Brain Aging, Dialdoc, PHR Plus, bioSyntagma, Saccadous and Applied CFD Technologies.
What they get: One winner will advance with a free trip to the global finals at Challenge Festival in New York City in November. The finalists will compete for the grand prizes, as well as get the opportunity to spend time with investors, customers, media and other key connections that can help them succeed on a global scale.
